Is a sentence of life in prison for stealing $150 worth of videotapes Constitutional?

I would agree with Sandra Day O’Connor. I believe that the defendant Leandro Andrade has committed many crimes, felonies and misdemeanors that have led up to these two thefts. He has admitted to his crimes and that he has a drug addiction the causes him to commit crimes once let out of jail. In this case, Andrade should be sent to drug rehab and then possibly looked at for the sentencing.
I am surprised the only jurisdiction where the three strikes law has involved large numbers is in California.
